Have you ever liked a brand on Facebook then got annoyed by all their irrelevant posts cluttering up your news feed - and then Un-Liked them?

Yup, we've all been there.

Kinda a pain when your newsfeed is full of posts from your local gym about weight-lifting for heavy-lifters.... Come on, people, I'M A TEENY TINY LADY.

Despite this most business's send out Facebook posts to all of their audience - regardless of age, gender and geo-graphical location.

This post will show you how to utilise Facebook's FREE post targeting function and avoid spamming your audience with irrelevant posts.

  • Post targeting is win-win; targeted posts generally receive higher engagement and interaction.

  • By targeting content, you can be sure that the organic content that reaches your customers is always valuable to them.

  • This leads to greater brand loyalty, trust, and helps you maintain a vibrant and engaged online community.

How does it work?

  • You can target posts based on Gender, relationship status, educational status, age, location, language and interests.

  • You can also set a 'Post end date' to prevent post promoting events from spamming your audience's newsfeed after the event is over.

  • Your posts will still be visible to anyone who visits your Page, even if they are outside of your target audience.

"We are twenty-something southerners. If you spam our Facebook Feeds with your Yorkshire event for the over 60's we will probably Un-Like your Page."
